Wetpour Surface is a blend of rubber granules bound together using polyurethane resin and laid on an existing suitable, or specially prepared base. It is highly impact absorbing and ideal for use under playground equipment. It’s also available in a wide range of colours to suit all environments and styles.
It is a porous system meaning that it does a great job of soaking up rain water throughout the year which helps to reduce puddle formation and overall surface drainage. This also means that it is a lot less likely to become muddy and slippery in bad weather conditions compared to loose-fill alternatives.
The surfacing system is manufactured/mixed on site and the base layer consists of recycled SBR (Styrene Butadiene Rubber). The top layer is made from recycled EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) – this gives the surface its strength and durability. It can be supplied in a wide range of colours to suit the desired aesthetic, and is designed with a variety of patterns and shapes to meet all customer requirements. Our surfaces are tested to ensure they exceed BS EN 1177 and are certified to various Critical Fall Heights.
Rubber wet pour is very durable and requires little maintenance in comparison to other types of surfacing. However, as with all surfacing systems it is important to work with a reputable and experienced company to guarantee that the surfacing has been installed to exacting standards. Incorrect installation can lead to reduced safety standards and a deteriorating surface. Regular cleaning should be carried out to help keep the surface clean and in pristine condition, this can include sweeping and brushing the surface.
